Compulsory
2nd Cycle Studies - Mestrado
Recommended Prerequisites
A basic knowledge is required in: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Computer Programming, Numerical and Computational Methods, Probabilities and Statistics, and also a basic knowledge on Fluid Mechanics
Teaching Methods
Theoretical lectures (T): oral exposition of the defined topics. Individual participation of students in the discussion is evaluated. TP classes: resolution of problems. Laboratorial classes (LC): experience, data aquisition/observation, write report.
Learning Outcomes
The main objective of the course is to provide students with a solid knowledge and basic training on the behavior of fluids, especially external flowing fluids, for mechanical engineering applications. It is structured across a total of five chapters, envolving use the foundations learned in Fluid Mechanics to address several practical engineering problems. All of these subjects focus on the analysis of transport phenomena (amount of movement, energy and mass) that occur in fluid flows in diverse practical applications.
Work Placement(s)
