Teaching Methods

In the T classes the topics dealt with in the program are presented. The TP classes are divided into the analysis and resolution of problems and a laboratory. Besides the application problems, solved in class, the students will have other proposed problems that they should solve in their individual study. A visit to the Laboratory of Industrial Aerodynamics and of Forest Fire Research is planned. Each student must perform two group works, one experimental and one of computational nature in order to complement and strengthen his training.

Learning Outcomes

The objective of this discipline is to complement the knowledge and training in the area of fluid mechanics and to deepen the understanding on turbulence, potential and compressible flows having in mind their application in the area of industrial aerodynamics and aeronautics. The students should acquire a good understanding and mastering on mechanics and thermodynamics of turbulent, compressible and potential flows including capacity to address and solve applied problems of industrial aerodynamics namely in aeronautics, wind engineering, car aerodynamics, forest fires and other.

Work Placement(s)
