Teaching Methods
The lectures have a traditional format, which is essentially driven by the exposure of the subjects with the support of Powerpoint presentations and other multimedia.
The practical classes are devoted to the analysis and solving of practical problems for application of the theoretical knowledge.
Learning Outcomes
The main objective of this course is to present and develop the concepts of heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) and refrigeration (R). Addressing topics related to health and thermal comfort, the thermal behavior of buildings, the notion of thermal loads, psychrometrics, ventilation principles and the components of HVAC systems, aims to provide students with the necessary foundations to develop projects, analyze and operate climate control systems in buildings. The approach to the fundamentals of refrigeration technologies is intended to provide students with knowledge to interpret and act on refrigeration systems.
