Teaching Methods

While developing their work, students will be regularly assisted by their supervisors’ tutorial guidance,which will direct them in their research,data analysis,interpretation of results,and dissemination of the knowledge produced and their help students carry out the activities foreseen in the work plan initially proposed.Following approval in the Thesis Project and the registration of the theme,a TC will be formed,including a specialist in the area external to the SC in compliance with the regulations.This Committee will be responsible for proposing alternative strategies to improve the SW.

Learning Outcomes

The course unit aims for students to carry out advanced Nursing research and disseminate the scientific knowledge produced.

Upon completion, students are expected to have acquired the skills that will allow them to start an autonomous scientific career, involving the scientific supervision of students in postgraduate training and the coordination of projects.

Syllabus

In the course unit “Thesis”, students will carry out a research work plan of high scientific merit. The work will be conducted under the joint supervision of Ph.D. teachers/researchers designated by the Scientific Council of the Cycle of Studies and following Regulation 804A/2020 of the University of Coimbra.

Students will be required to address a scientific question, problematize it, justify its relevance based on state of the art, and make the appropriate use of research methodologies and techniques. Students will also be encouraged to participate actively in the dissemination of their work through the publication of scientific articles in peer-reviewed journals with impact factor and presentations in scientific events.
