Teaching Methods

The curricular unit will operate on a theoretical-practical basis: presentation of content, clarification of doubts and orientation of tasks by the teacher; preparation, presentation and discussion of tasks by students.

Learning Outcomes

The aim is to deepen the knowledge about the evolution of diplomacy - of its modes of action, of the respective correlations with other social spheres - in modern and contemporary times in general and, in particular, in the 20th and 21st centuries. Several readings proposed by individuals and researchers from different social sciences/technologies also derived from them are analyzed. Based on the analysis of objects of study from the past, the aim is to deepen the ability to analyze and structure diplomatic intervention proposals today.

It will be possible to acquire skills for collecting and analyzing data, producing and evaluating historiographic and other discourses on the history of diplomacy, applying knowledge related to periods prior to today in the characterization of the current reality and when establishing scenarios that facilitate the foresight of the near future.
