Teaching Methods

Tutorial support of students throughout the process of preparation of the Master's dissertation, which may include activities such as participation in seminars that contribute to the updating of the dissertation's subject matter, or to learn and hone particular techniques for the collection, analysis and interpretation of scientific data.

Learning Outcomes

The supervision of the dissertation project holds as main objective the providing of master students with the general skills necessary for the (guided) elaboration of a relatively autonomous research project in the area of Special Education, including:

Training in the autonomous management of the research process; mastery of methodologies and techniques of data collection and analysis; mastery of theoretical review and scientific writing; mastery of ethical procedures associated with scientific research; understanding of the procedures associated with the publication of scientific articles in journals of the specialty; redaction of the dissertation for suitability of peer review.
