Teaching Methods
The methodology will be fundamentally expository but with a vital interaction component, highlighting what each student knows in their reality to build knowledge. Various conferences will be attended by external entities and professionals currently responsible for managing and implementing health information systems. The conferences aim to bring theory closer to practice by inviting professionals and specialists with experience in this area and to highlight the fundamental role of information systems in decision-support processes, in the formulation of health policies, in the management of health organizations.
Learning Outcomes
This curricular unit aims to provide in-depth knowledge about the basic concepts associated with health information systems, their use and optimization.
At the end the students shall be able to: identify the needs of an organization in information systems; know the steps for the implementation of information systems in an organization; relate concepts of data, information and knowledge; know the importance of the concepts of integration and interoperability of information systems; meet national policies for health information systems.
