Teaching Methods

The methodology includes lectures with use of audio-visual media, group dynamics, analysis of articles and case studies. Seeks to promote active learning and reported, favoring the interaction, in order to integrate knowledge of students and current situations of health organizations.

Learning Outcomes

At the end of the course, the student must: demonstrate knowledge about the current context of health organizations; master the concepts of strategic management; know how to define a strategic plan and identify the internal and external surroundings; use management tools in the analysis of problems and decision-making; be familiar with the field of diagnosis and organizational change and management policies and practices; demonstrate ability to synthesize information and intervene in the management of the Organization at the strategic level.

- Theoretical Paradigms of management.

- Structures and organizational models.

- Healthcare organizations - Typology of organizations. Reforms of health services.

- Strategic management - Thought and strategic planning. Internal and external organizational SWOT diagnosis. Involvement of stakeholders. Formulation and implementation of strategies. Mission. Vision. Objectives. Processes. Goals. Indicators.

- Decision making.

- Plan of activities and budget.

- Operatioal and strategic managerment budget control. Management support tools: BSC, tableaux de bord.

- Organizational change.

- Policies and practices of people management - Recruitment, selection, training and development. Motivation and performance evaluation. Involvement and communication systems. Internal promotions, safety at work and the psychological contract.

-Results of management procedures. Organizational commitment, lack of procedural and distributive justice, satisfaction. Organizational citizenship.
