Teaching Methods

After the introduction and debate of basic concepts, the course will focus on the analysis of case studies, obtained from real situations, works of fiction or autobiographical texts of various types of stakeholders (scientists at various stages of their careers, patients, caregivers, witnesses). Part of this material should be studied independently, and then discussed collectively.

The model in B-Learning will allow the use of training modules available online, as well as the remote participation of national and international and international invited teachers.

After performing several types of short exercises, the final evaluation will be based on a synthesis work (100%), freely chosen from among the themes of the course, and validated in advance.

Learning Outcomes

With this course it is intended that students acquire basic notions of bioethics applied to integrity in scientific research, relevant to activity in the fields of natural and health sciences. It is also intended to introduce the narrative as a tool for humanization, reflection and analysis, which allows evaluating, using examples, both the action of researchers and their relationship with peers, students or subjects involved in a given study (such as local inhabitants, patients or caregivers).
