Teaching Methods
The teaching methodologies implemented comprise several approaches, namely, the expositive, the interrogative, and the demonstrative method. Being a theoretical-practical course, active learning methods will be preferred, namely, exercises, case studies and group discussions.
The continuous evaluation is adopted, which is composed of two elements:
Test (50%)
Individual written work (50%).
Learning Outcomes
At the end of the curricular unit, students should be able to:
a) Enunciate the basic concepts of human resource management in organizations;
b) Understand the strategic dimension of current human resources management and to recognize new emerging trends in the area;
c) Understand the main techniques of human resources management, namely, recruitment, selection and integration, training and development, performance management and reward systems management;
d) Apply the leadership techniques most appropriate to each situation;
e) Identify the main motivational theories and the strategies deriving from them;
f) Implement effective negotiation strategies in the context of conflict in organizations;
g) Identify the new trends and the ethical challenges of human resources management.
