Quantitative Methods Applied to Public Administration I.
Teaching Methods
The classes are based on the discussion of examples (using real or simulated data) and exercises to apply the material being taught. Therefore, the analysis of real data will receive a considerable attention. Mathematical complexities will be kept to a minimum.
Learning Outcomes
The main goals of this unit are studying exploratory data analysis methods, data collection methods and the main inferential statistical methods. The student should develop the ability to interpret the obtained results and to critically evaluate the statistical methods being used.
Work Placement(s)
NoSyllabus
1 . Exploratory data analysis: distributions
2 . Producing data
3 . Probability distribution: binomial and normal models
4 . Inference for proportions and means
5 . Association and linear regression.
Head Lecturer(s)

Assessment Methods
Assessment
There are two types of grading: during the semester or by final exam. During the semester there are two mid-term exams : 100.0%
