Recommended Prerequisites

Good Inorganic and Organic kowledge;  Good english level.

Teaching Methods

The course will encompass theoretical lectures, T, that will present relevant topics. Selected exercises , TP, will be discussed to apply knowledge in the classroom. Along the semester the student will choose a topic to make a written/oral presentation based on a real industrial example for implementation of a greener process.. Practical classes for execution of laboratorial work (project) and hand on practical problems’ solving.

Final seminar for presentation and discussion of the results obtained by the student in a small project developed during the semester

Learning Outcomes

The main goal of the curricular unit is the development of skills/knowledge to implement/develop/modify the chemical processes in order to contribute to the sustainability of the planet within the implementation of their professional life:

Specific Objectives:

1.Recognize and apply Green Chemistry basic concepts

2. Analyze, summarize and understand chemical processes involving alternative solvents and non pollutant processes.

3.Apply acquired knowledge in the vocational area in a professional level, in a good environmental practice perspective.

4.Problem resolution in the area of chemical processes in alternative media

5. Argumentation on decision making

6. Strategy decision on the realization of chemical processes with industrial interest, evaluating cost and environmental issues

7.Understand and use data bases and other biblioghraphic resources.

Work Placement(s)
