Project elaboration (tutorial supervision) and defense in the presence of a jury.

Learning Outcomes

To carry out a closer follow-up of the evolution of the research process by a scientific committee. The dissertation defense jury will be composed by one person of the scientific committee (not related to the work of the student), one of the supervisors and external evaluators (e.g. Scientists from other Universities not involved in the work of the student), in particular in relation to the development of scientific writing skills, synthesis capacity and communication. This new curricular unit complements the curricular unit of Seminar I, where the students only make an oral presentation of their project. In this curricular unit students will have to present a detailed written document about their thesis project, including the state of the art, objectives, working hypotheses and detailed experimental design and results and their analysis obtained so far.

In this course students will have to submit a detailed written report on the thesis project (variable depending on the topic of the project), including state of the art, goals, working hypotheses, experimental design and data obtained to date. They will have also to defend the project before a specialized scientific committee.
