Learning Outcomes
This course is aimed at anyone at a post-intermediate or advanced level of English (at least B2 of the CEFR level) and who need to develop or consolidate their language skills in academic or professional contexts. The course aims to develop students’ written production and reading skills which are essential for the preparation, presentation and publication of papers written in English. A percentage of the course is also dedicated to the development of oral skills, used to expand on the topics introduced in reading texts.

Course contents
The course consists of the following features:
• Analysis of academic texts (register, cohesion, coherence, organisation, etc.);
• Writing academic abstracts and papers;
• Preparation of academic presentations;
• Taking effective notes during a lecture/presentation
• Participation in speaking activities to expand on themes dealt with during the lessons.
