Pain and rehabilitation. Exercise/mobilization as an approach to pain treatment/control. Prescription of physical exercise and muscle, ligament, tendon and bone strengthening.
Increased activity and functionality
Different types of exercise
Heat and cold, Electrotherapy, TENS, Ultrasound; Iontophoresis. Laser for pain therapy, indications and applications.
Synesiological techniques.
Psychological Approach: Biopsychosocial model of pain. Influence of cognitive and emotional factors
Positive psychological factors and pain. Personality – neuroticism and negative affectivity; Optimism.
Coping Mechanisms Psychological treatment of chronic pain: Self-regulatory therapies, Biofeedback; relaxation training; Hypnotherapy; mindfulness
Behavioral, cognitive-behavioral and acceptance/commitment therapies
Acupuncture in the therapeutic approach. Effectiveness in treating different pain situations and controversies.
