Recommended Prerequisites
The pre-requisites of this course are those corresponding to the application for the MSc course CMM.
Teaching Methods
The teaching methods of lectures aim at the global learning of the discipline.
The lectures are supported in the literature and presentations, with the support of media. There is an opportunity to discuss the concepts and more difficult issues. Occasionally students are invited to attend lectures by visiting specialists. Tutorial lessons (22.5 hours) will be to answer questions and to help in the final project.

2. The virtual design
The role of virtual design in construction, requirements and benefits, what type of information is created by whom in the different stages?
3. 3D design modeling strategies
Object oriented CAD tools. Different types of models: architectural, structural and production model. Assignment 1
4. Project
A final project will be handed out where groups of students will present a virtual design solution of a small construction project at the end of the course.
