Teaching Methods

Assignment of a (tentative) supervisor as early as possible at the beginning of the academic year, in accordance with the research interests expressed by the student in the selection interview.

Reading of articles and other scientific bibliography, and conducting research work in articulation with the supervisor.

Preparation of a preliminary proposal (a 3 pages summary, in English), and oral presentation of the on-going work at the beginning of the 2nd semester.

The assessment consists of the public defense of the thesis project before a jury. The defense has a duration of at most two hours, including an oral presentation by the candidate lasting up to 20 minutes.

Learning Outcomes

To deepen the knowledge of a particular research topic in Inf Eng, to identify problems to be considered and possible methods to solve them, and to prepare a written proposal on the Thesis work, which must include

1.The present of the obj of the thesis, specifying the topic to be investigated and the specialization area in which the topic is inserted

2.The contextualizat of that topic within Inf Eng, development of the state of the art and prospects of development of scientific knowledge in the relevant area

3.The potential contribution of the thesis to the advancement of scientific knowledge in the area

4.The work plan to accomplish the obj of the thesis

Syllabus

To be defined by the supervisor on a case-by-case basis in the form of a work plan outlining the research topic, identifying research opportunities within that topic, and providing bibliography to support the first stages of the student's work.
