Recommended Prerequisites
Approval in 1st Cycle in Geology or Geography.
Teaching Methods
Theorical: using audiovisual means to facilitate the understanding of concepts, models and methodologies.
Practical and laboratory: application of theoretical knowledge to practical problems.
Fieldwork: students will be divided into groups for the planning of the field work, and each group will be responsible for one of the tasks to perform on the day of the field trip.
Learning Outcomes
The curricular unit intends to contribute so that students:
1) understand the concepts underlying Geodiversity and Geological Heritage;
2) learn the techniques and methods inherent to Geoconservation;
3) develop skills in inventorying, assessing, conserving, valuing and monitoring Geological Heritage;
4) know the legal mechanisms and political and scientific organizations with responsibilities in the management of the Geological Heritage at local, regional, national and international levels;
5) interact with teams that, on the ground, manage territories with geological heritage.
