Recommended Prerequisites

Approval in all disciplines of the 1st year of the master's.

Teaching Methods

The internship takes place in sports institutions of recognized merit belonging to the Portuguese or foreign sports system, in training and competition, supervised by a guardian of the registered club/institution. The orientation of athletes/teams will be defined in the iInternship Plan and the protocol of cooperation between the training entity-FCDEF and the institution / club. The student is monitored and evaluated for the skills demonstrated in the programming and iconduction of the training and competition process reverted in thel monograph.

Learning Outcomes

The internship, as na optional condition in the 2ª year of the Master's program, has the purpose of supervised development, in real contxt and the professional practice in real context and of professional practice, relevant to the performance profile associated to the sport of income,  aiming at the consolidation of scientific and technical acquired during the curricular component.Its objective is: 1. Articulate theoretical training with the development of specific intervention methods and techniques; 2. Reflect the performance on real training situations of competition with athletes of high performance sports; 3. Professional experience; 4.Apply scientific and pedagogical knowledge acquired.

Syllabus

The program content depends on the specificity of the modality. The studant should: a. Develop work, under supervision, aiming at the consolidation of technical, relational and organizational skills; b. Reflect on the situations of training and competition experience by  high performance athletes; c.To provide a pratical experience of profissional actuation with more experienced coaches and their insertion in work group: d.Present in the active life of the club/instituion where the internship takes place by creating a relationship with different members of the sports community; e. Analyze and deepen the knowledge through the sports preparation of high performance athletes; f.Exercising a set of experiences in the context of pedagogical practice; g. To improve the level of specific competences, of each modality, for the exercise of the coach function.
