Recommended Prerequisites

All the contents derived from a Sport Sciences graduation. More specifically, the knowledge from the subjects related with: General physiology, Exercise physiology, Training Methodology for young athletes, Methods of Physical Condition, Planning and Organization of the Training and Sport Psichology. May also be important a minimal knowledge regarding the english language.

Teaching Methods

The lectures will be predominantly for exposure of the syllabus.

The practical classes will assume a more interactive discussion and in a group format.

The content covered in the theoretical component will be evaluated by two midterm exams. 

 The evaluation process recommended in the curricular unit promotes the theoretical mastery of the subjects covered, as well as problem solving tasks and fieldwork. 

Learning Outcomes

This course aims to prepare the students for a more complex understanding of the football training system. In the end of this unit, the students must be able to respond to a important ammount of challenges in the football training defined, mainly, in the contents of this subject. However, a competent preparation of the following subject (Specific Sport I - Football) is demanding to get a full understanding of this level. At the end of this curricular unit, students should be able to: know the main game methods and means of training; master aspects related to nutrition, use of doping substances and sports recovery; carry out training evaluation and control.

- Modeling of soccer training / game. - the interconnection between the methods, systems, principles and factors of the game; the importance of the tactical dimension; tactical schemes; the specific training of goalkeepers and the development of motor skills.

- Training evaluation and control - main means and techniques used.

- Injury recovery and prevention;

- Doping and nutritional aspects.
