Practise in one combat sport.

Teaching Methods

Teaching sessions of a collective nature and personal guidance, with problem-solving activities related to the subject covered, with simulations and observations of situations (training and competition), in order to facilitate the integration of the subject and allow the evaluation (classes and critical reports). Guided and evaluated research work on deepening aspects related to training in the chosen combat modality.

Learning Outcomes

This curricular unit is related to that of Specific Training II and is oriented towards the development of advanced level skills for the performance of the Combat Sports trainer activity. At the end of the course students should be able to: understand the importance of the stages of development and planning of the sports career; identify the characteristics of athletes of different age groups and competitive levels; plan, prepare, operationalize, evaluate / control the specific training process of physical capacities; recognize the importance of nutritional, traumatological and ethical aspects in sports performance. Reinforcing the scientific and pedagogical knowledge of the student about the chosen modality, and contributing for the improvement throughout the life of the training process, in the different phases of sports training and in a diversified context.

The importance of development stages to achieve high performance in combat modalities. The planning of the combatants' sporting career and long-term demands for sports practice. Monitoring of the sports career and training dossier. The profile of high-performance combatants and the identification of talent. The combatant's role in his journey to high performance. The training periodization models and adaptation to the chosen combat modalities. The planned development of the physical capacities of the chosen sport, its individual character and its specificity up to high performance. The elaboration of specific training units. Planning, organization, management and evaluation of the specific training session. Nutrition of combat modalities, weight management, food optimization and supplementation for performance. Ethical values and sporting spirit inherent in combat sports. Specific trauma of combat sports.
