Fluvial and Coastal Hydraulics, Renewable Energies, Geotechnics, Construções, Risk Management.

Teaching Methods

Classes run under theoretical and practical. In the classes, theoretical concepts are presented and discussed. Simultaneously, some illustrative examples are solved. Students participate actively in the process of formation, being asked to present solutions to the proposed problems. Occasionally students are invited to attend lectures by visiting specialists. Tutorial lessons will be used to answer questions.

The evaluation is done through a written final assignment with oral presentation – 100%.

Learning Outcomes

The overall objective is to provide students with a sound knowledge in the formulation, research approach and analysis of climate change. At the end of the course students should be able to: identify interdisciplinary problems on human and biogeophysical aspects of climate change.

Syllabus

Development of an interdisciplinary project in the area of adaptation to climate change, based on a research theme selected by the student. The theme and research approach of the problem (s) should be interdisciplinary, involving aspects of natural and social sciences of climate change.
