Not applicable – the course is an introduction to operations management and automation. Therefore, there are no specialized technical prerequesites
Teaching Methods
Theoretical-practical classes combining oral exposition and resolution of practical exercises. Also, methods include project-based learning (group work).
Learning Outcomes
The overall objective is to provide students with sound knowledge of operations and supply chain management in the areas of production and intelligent civil engineering services and systems.
At the end of the course students should be able to:
i) Understand the integration of an organization's operations, from sourcing, production and after-sales service;
ii) Understand the critical factors and identify key performance indicators of an organization's operations;
iii) Apply operations management methods and tools;
iv) Lead operations planning and control activities;
v) Know and understand the main sensors used in construction and construction products.
vi) Know the main electric and hydraulic actuators
vi) Use PID systems
vi) Use sofwtare related to monitoring, control and command systems
vii) Know home automation systems
viii) Know advanced automation systems (robotic).
