Each lesson will include a brief presentation of the subject followed by practical work.

Learning Outcomes

Objectives:
This curricular unit is designed to familiarize students with the concrete issues of municipal planning and urban management.

Skills to be developed:
Provides skills in the preparation, appraisal and implementation of Municipal Spatial Plans and other associated regulations.
Promotes the constant intervention of students in the assessment of documents and projects and in the presentation of their conclusions in a debate model.
Encourages the ability to evaluate, in the light of current legislation, proposals for solutions that promote sustainable cities.

• The Portuguese territory, the associated national legislation and the European framework;
• Municipal Spatial Planning Plans (PMOT);
• Municipal Urban Management: application of laws and regulations in planning, plan execution and licensing;
• The relationship between current legislation and the production of qualified urban space from the point of view of sustainability: Detailed Plans, Execution Units and Allotments;
• Universal Urban Planning Rules.
