Teaching Methods

During theoretical-practical classes with detailed, using audiovisual means, the concepts, principles and fundamental theories are presented in connection to practical examples. Complementarly, during classes, students, with the guidance of the teacher, develop the projects described above for a specific case.

Learning Outcomes

The general objective is to provide students with solid knowledge of the fundamentals of the area of project and design of buildings, in particular their non-structural components. It should be highlighted the building design for thermal behavior, acoustic behavior and water and sewage infrastructures, as well as the non-structural rehabilitation component. At the end of the course unit students should be able to develop an integrated project with the specialties addressed here, proposing compatible solutions between them, and develop specific non-structural rehabilitation proposals for practical cases.

- characterization of the building

- currently adopted calculation methodologies

- materials and construction solutions

- descriptive memory and usual drawings
