Learning Outcomes

1. Understand criminology as the body of knowledge regarding crime as a social phenomen, including the process of making laws, of breaking laws and of reacting toward the breaking of laws.

2. Understand criminological theories as useful tools that help us to explain crime and the working of the criminal justice system and the actors in the system.

3. Understand the history of criminology

4. Understand main contemporary perspectives in criminology.
