Teaching Methods
Theoretical-practical lessons with detailed exposition of the concepts, basic principles and theories and also with the resolution of practical exercises. The students, with the supervision and guidance of the professor, solve practical exercises based in real problems. Some of the practical classes will take place at the Road Pavements Laboratory.
Learning Outcomes
The overall objective is to provide students with sound knowledge of the fundamentals of the design, construction and operation of transport infrastructure networks, particularly with regard to municipal road networks and to the national road network.
At the end of the course students should be able to: formulate a bituminous mixture for a road pavement; design the structure of a road pavement; design a surface drainage system for a road; design an underground drainage system for a road; define conservation or rehabilitation interventions for road network pavements; define interventions in accident accumulation sections.
