System of continuous assessment - the teacher must support the student regularly and him/her must provide regular information on the progress, and on the elements and people consulted.

Learning Outcomes

The purpose of this course is to help the student to carry out his/her master project and write the corresponding dissertation. The course addresses topics concerning the organization of engineering projects, the writing of master's dissertations and ethics in engineering. The student must do research about his/her master project make written and oral reports on the objectives, motivation, context and requirements analysis of the master project and on the state of the art of that project. Students should research literature and consult with experts from organizations outside the Department of Physics.

Main developed skills: information and literature review; information management; communication with other specialists; communication with non-specialists.

Works to be done (all these works will be presented orally):

1 - Objectives, motivation, context and requirements analysis of the student’s master project.

2 - Presentation and discussion of a scientific paper related with the subject of the student’s master project.

3 - State of the art for the student’s master project, including a description of the project for a non-specialist audience.
