Teaching Methods

This curricular unit is based on the formulation and structuring of a Chemical Engineering problem, with the students divided in groups of 4-5 elements, and having tutorial meetings every 2 weeks. The learning process results from the systematization of concepts around a problem that integrates different subdomain areas in Chemical Engineering. The interaction with the teachers and the programatic contents of different curricular units of the Masters program is actively promoted, to motivate the students and provide more elaborate application examples.  

Learning Outcomes

This curricular unit assumes a supporting role in the learning process of the contents of the various curricular units of the Masters Program. This is intended to provide the students with an opportunity for knowledge integration, through its application to a concrete problem in the Chemical Engineering area. The students are introduced with some general techiques for problem solving, that might be applied to structure this task. This curricular unit has also the objective to promote efficient working in teams of 4-5 students, with the tutorial support of teachers from different curriculum areas.
