Computer Programming, Technical Drawing, Thermodynamics, Energy conversion and management, Heat and Mass Transfer, Aerodynamics, Heating, ventilating, air-conditioning and refrigeration, Propulsion systems.
Teaching Methods
Theoretical classes are devoted to describe and to discuss the principles of equipment and accessories of heating units and to draw and analyze typical units. Some programs and their applicability to design are discussed. Theoretical and practical modules are devoted to solve practical examples and to select equipment and to discuss the progress of students with their projects. Assessment method:
- Theoretical-practical test [25 %]
- Project (presentation and discussion) [75 %]
Learning Outcomes
Design of equipment or thermal systems for production and distribution of heat/cold, renewable energy systems and/or heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems. General concepts associated with engineering design are explored, the regulations and standards are discussed and theoretical concepts about thermal engineering and control and safety systems are detailed. It is intended that students develop instrumental skills (oral and written communication, using numerical and graphical tools), personal (critical thinking and knowledge sharing) and systemic (practical application of theoretical knowledge and development of self-criticism and self-evaluation).

Preliminary installation of a thermal, industrial licensing, legislation and standards; heat, work and electricity production systems (solar collectors, boilers, cogeneration, trigeneration, power plants); freezing and refrigeration units, HVAC systems; water treatment systems or thermal equipment; thermal energy networks.
