Teaching Methods

Classes take place in theoretical and theoretical-practical scheme. In the lectures sets out the fundamental concepts in the form of lectures using transparencies and multimedia In the theoretical-practical apply the concepts taught in lectures to solve practical problems and demand that the student has an active participation suggesting strategies for solving the problems posed. Students should also do a small project that includes the equipment of a vast majority of machine elements analyzed in the curriculum.

Learning Outcomes

Provide students with a broad and integrative capacity calculation of mechanical components in projects involving, springs. mounts with clamping of stacionary and rotary discs,  transmissions of power or energy in continuous and transitional regimes. Calculation methods are presented for gear tranmissions, brakes and clutches. At the end of the course, students will be able to: make the design of these machine elements, based on analytical methods and dedicated software, developing a critical sense and establish strategies to optimize design.
