Learning Outcomes

Teaching objectives:

- To know and understand the contexts of crisis intervention;

- To know and understand the processes of trauma and bereavement;

- To promote the acquisition of knowledge about models, strategies and resources for intervention in crisis, trauma and bereavement;

- Promote the development of basic skills in crisis intervention, trauma and bereavement.

By the end of the course, students should be able to:

- Be able to understand the processes of trauma and bereavement;

- Be able to understand the crisis intervention protocol;

- Be able to understand and apply some fundamental lines of intervention in trauma and bereavement;

- Identify the potential and limits of interventions.

1. Risky/potentially traumatic contexts and situations.

2. Psychological intervention in crisis situations: conceptualisation and intervention protocol.

3. Psychological trauma: conceptualisation and recovery processes.

3.1. Approach to some models of trauma intervention.

4. Bereavement: conceptualisation and socio-cultural framework of loss and grief.

4.1. Loss and grief in the personal/family development cycle.

4.2. Pathological grief.

4.3 Models of grief development.

5. Specifics of intervention in grief processes with children.
