Teaching Methods

The curricular unit will take place through theoretical exposition, analysis and discussion of evaluation protocols and reports in Forensic Psychology areas referenced in the contents. It will also include conducting assessment protocol and report writing exercises in class.

Learning Outcomes

No final da unidade curricular, pretende-se que os alunos:

- Conheçam os diferentes modelos e protocolos de avaliação em contexto forense;

- Saibam identificar, planear e usar os protocolos de avaliação ajustados às diferentes situações do contexto forense;

- Identifiquem as potencialidades e limites das metodologias de avaliação em contexto forense;

- Saibam redigir o relatório a enviar à entidade solicitante, de modo a responder ao pedido e a integrar, de forma compreensiva, os dados da avaliação

- Conheçam as orientações gerais relativas ao depoimento em sede judicial.

Psychological assessment in forensic context: assessment tools, evaluation protocols and reports in the following areas:

(a) Psychological assessment of children and adolescents under the Child / Youth Protection system at risk / danger;

b) Psychological assessment of children / adolescents and adults under the Regulation of Parental Responsibilities and parental dispute;

c) Psychological assessment in the context of Educational Tutelary Processes;

e) Damage assessment;

f) Testamentary capacity assessment;

h) Assessment of Social Desirability, Malingering and symptom exaggeration;

i) Ethics and deontology in the context of forensic assessment;

j) The expert testimony of the psychologist in courts.
