Learning Outcomes

The knowledge of the risks associated with the work and the minimization of their effects on the health and safety of workers are tasks that require an adequate specific training and a continuous effort to update, able to keep pace with technological developments and to deal with their own disadvantages. This discipline is aimed to provide students with a broad perspective on the field of Occupational Safety, Hygiene and Health (OSH). In addition to the legislative aspects and their practical application in the context of the pair worker-employer, attention is focused on the assessment of the risks, the identification of the means of prevention and the solutions to be adopted, either through individual protection or through the design of the workplace. It is also intended to transmit the foundations and methods required for the characterization of a significant set of working conditions, covering a wide range of situations and are able to design a safety plan.
