Teaching Methods
This course will use several strategies and activities, using a oral expositive methodology supported by the presentation of slides, interrogative method, discussion of texts and individual written work that will be the subject of public presentation, discussion and defense.
Learning Outcomes
1. Understand the program of Forensic Neuropsychology as a specific and distinctive element of the scientific and professional activity of neuropsychologists.
2. Identify essential technical and psychometric issues related to neuropsychological assessment applied in forensic contexts.
3. Understand objectives, theoretical and practical assumptions, advantages and limits of methodologies and techniques of neuropsychological assessment applied in civil and criminal forensic contexts.
4. Acquire knowledge about Clinical Disorders and Special Populations commonly referred for Forensic Neuropsychology/neuropsychological assessment in forensic contexts.
5. Understand the role Forensic Neuropsychology in the courts, including the admissibility of neuropsychological evidence and the neuropsychologist expert testimony.

Intelligence and Personality Assessment: Forensic Implications. Detecting Exaggeration Symptoms, Poor effort, and Malingering in Neuropsychology: Performance and Symptom Validity Assessment. Differential diagnosis.
II. Disorders and Special Populations. Moderate and Severe Traumatic Brain Injury; Preinjury and secondary Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder in Traumatic Brain Injury; Work-related injury and Disability Determination; Veteran's Disability Examination; Psychiatric Disorders; Substance-Use Disorders; Somatic Symptom Disorders; Chronic Pain; Neurotoxicology; Competency to Stand Trial and Criminal Responsibility (Insanity, and Dangerousness); Violent Offenders.
