Teaching Methods
Expository classes with provision of up-to-date and representative references, including available studies with Portuguese population. Practical training of skills to plan a neuropsychological rehab or stimulation intervention adapted to clinical conditions. Practical training of the implementation, monitoring and assessment of neuropsychological rehabilitation. Contact with neuropsychological rehabilitation tools.
Learning Outcomes
To understand the basis, principles and aims of neuropsychological rehabilitation.
To analyze the role of neuropsychological assessment and other complementary assessment methods in the selection and planning of neuropsychological interventions.
To explore the role of goal setting and of a biopsychosocial and holistic approach in neuropsychological rehabilitation.
To know the main types and techniques of rehabilitation, distinguishing those fitted to neurodegenerative and non-neurodegenerative brain disorders.
To be able to frame the various types and techniques and methods of neuropsychological rehabilitation and stimulation according to each clinical condition, recognizing its potential and limits.
To understand the main research designs applied to the evaluation of the efficacy of neuropsychological rehabilitation.
