Learning Outcomes

This curricular unit aims to train the student with the fundamental knowledge to assess the biological profile of an individual (sex, age, ancestry and stature) based on their skeletal remains.

Syllabus

Biological profile assessment through the human skeleton: sex, age, stature and ancestry. Methods and anatomical areas preferred for the estimation of each of the parameters. Differences between an assessment of the biological profile in the immature skeleton and the adult skeleton. Demographic characterization of past populations. How to make an identity exclusion based on the biological profile. The biological profile assessment report.
