Teaching Methods
The lectures mix a theoretical training component with a practical training, including the design of a portfolio structure to be used and improved throughout the graduation trajectory.
Learning Outcomes
The objective of this course is to familiarize students with the professional practices of sociologists and prepare them for the elaboration of a career portfolio, so that throughout their academic career they can build their own portfolio, which will be presented and defended in the course "Applied Sociology". Hence, the course will promote soft and hard skills specific to the creation of portfolios, fostering students’ autonomy to define their own learning process and improving their employability.
After attending this course the student should be able to:
- To understand and characterize the work contexts of sociologists;
- To learn what a portfolio is and what are its objectives;
- To identify what kind of portfolios can be developed;
- To master techniques to build a physical and an electronic portfolio;
- To prepare contents for portfolios;
- To develop techniques for presenting portfolios.

4) Formats and models of portfolios;
5) Practical exercises on how to design and present components of a portfolio;
6) Creation of a physical portfolio and an electronic portfolio to frame the academic training and the personal course during the graduation.
