Recommended Prerequisites
Basic knowledge is required in: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Computer Programming, Numerical and Computational Methods.
Teaching Methods
Theoretical lectures (T): Oral discussion on previously defined topics with active participation of students.
Practical lectures (TP): Students are divided in groups to do team work to present a practical problem discussion and resolution.
Learning Outcomes
The main objective of this unit is to provide students with solid and autonomous knowledge on fluids’ behavior, to be used in practical engineering applications. It is divided into six chapters, including basic concepts that will be applied to practical engineering problems. Fluid behavior is viewed as a particular case of transport phenomena (mass, momentum, energy) that may be encountered along the student’s professional life.
