Type
Compulsory
Level
1st Cycle Studies

Recommended Prerequisites

Technical Drawing, Strength of Materials, Applied Mechanics, Science and Engineering of Materials, Introduction to Mechanical Design.

Teaching Methods

The classes take place on a theoretical-practical basis. At the beginning of each class, fundamental concepts are exposed in the form of conferences using transparencies and multimedia. Each student must perform a set of works using the available structural modeling and analysis software (CAD / CAE).

Learning Outcomes

As an integrating discipline of knowledge, its objectives are the modeling of machine parts and structures, the analysis of static and fatigue resistance and the graphic representation of mechanical systems, using commercial software currently used in industrial environments . In the end, students should have the following skills:

- Domain of CAD / CAE tools for modeling and analysis of mechanical and structural components;

- Knowledge of advanced graphic representation of mechanical and structural elements;

- Design a low complexity mechanical system;

- Communicate a project in the form of a written report and oral presentation.
