Teaching Methods
The fundamental aspects are presented in theoretical classes. These classes take the form of lectures using slides and videos. In theoretical-practical modules students proceed to the consideration and resolution of problems that illustrate the themes presented. Students participate actively in the process of formation, being asked to comment and discuss some of the topics covered in the course.
Learning Outcomes
This course aims to document the students about the technological processes of metal forming by plastic deformation and metal cutting. The behaviour of materials when subjected to these processes is analysed and discussed, indicating their particular characteristics and tests used for the characterization of the materials mechanical behaviour. The theoretical and experimental aspects of the material behaviour, during cold and hot plastic deformation are also introduced. In bried, the students acquire skills about the physical mechanisms of plastic deformation of ductile rupture and recovery of the deformed structure (restoration and recrystallization).
