Teaching Methods

The course is face-to-face and is based on theoretical and theoretical-practical classes which also include discussion and problem solving. Various materials will be made available allowing students to understand and complement the understanding of the concepts of organic synthesis, purification and characterization of compounds through chromatographic and spectroscopic techniques, formulation and administration of drugs, in vitro cell culture and data treatment and analysis. The evaluation will be made through an oral presentation (100%) and the classification will be attributed on a qualitative scale with 4 levels of approval.

Learning Outcomes

The main objective of this course is to allow students in the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd cycles of higher education to acquire training in the areas of Chemistry / Medicinal Chemistry, namely in the emerging and interconnected techniques of organic synthesis, purification and characterization of compounds through chromatographic and spectroscopic techniques, drug formulation and administration, cell culture in vitro and data treatment and analysis - focused on scientific research and accompanied by an experience of initiation to scientific research in these areas.
