Recommended Prerequisites

Sedimentar Petrology; Sedimentology; Stratigraphy; Structural Geology.

Teaching Methods

Lectures and seminars.
Resolution of theoretical and practical problems for analyzes issues such as subsidence analysis, provenance, diagenetic evolution of Atlantic Basins and others.
The lectures and seminars extend throughout the semester. The practical classes are held after theoretical presentation of a problem in concrete.

Learning Outcomes

Knowing the sedimentary record of Atlantic basins. Understand the geological history of the Atlantic basins and discern the tectonic, eustatic and climatic controls; Integrate regional aspects of the various basins in a global model. Knowing the source stratigraphic levels, more relevant traps and reservoirs and evaluate the oil potential of different structural or paleoenvironmental fields based on regional geological knowledge.
