Teaching Methods
The curricular unit will comprise 32 h / semester distributed 2 h / week
Each class will comprise 2 hours, where theoretical and practical content will be taught.
Presentation of theoretical and practical cases during the classes.
Realization of proposal study for the implementing the research concepts.
Learning Outcomes
Functionality and quality of life are increasingly the main objectives of a therapeutic program or intervention. Indexes and scales of assessment are adequate tools for monitoring health indicators. It is intended that the student knows the concepts of functionality and quality of life. It is also intended to understand the characteristics of the indexes and scales of assessment, their psychometric properties and the process of cultural and linguistic validation. It is also intended to contact the use of these tools in different areas, namely neurological, musculoskeletal, chronic pain, geriatric, risk of falling, among others.

The importance and the process of assessing function and quality of life.
Types of indexes and scales of assessment, their psychometric characteristics, in terms of function and quality of life.
Monitoring of health indicators and the concept of functional prognosis.
The role of these tools (indexes and scales) in clinical research and in the construction of evidence based medicine.
Types of metric instruments in different pathologies, namely neurological, musculoskeletal, chronic pain, geriatric, risk of falling, among others.
