Work project in Accounting and Taxation

Teaching Methods

The Work Project is an individual work, but subject to the supervision of the academic supervisor.

The MAF’s coordination organizes some sessions during the course of the Work Project, in which the various projects are presented to students and professors. During these sessions, students are confronted with the issues and problems that their Work Project may involve, and the various participants can/should suggest the improvements that they deem convenient.

Learning Outcomes

The Work Project is one of the ways to complete the MAF. This is a suitable alternative for those students who do not wish to pursue neither the research route, with a Dissertation, nor the internship, want to develop a new venture, which may be implemented in an organizational context. The Work Project shall be strongly profession-oriented and will be developed under the supervision of an academic supervisor from the Faculty of Economics.

The Work Project must be in the field of Accounting and Taxation.

The student must be empowered with the following skills:

a) Ability to generate new ideas and to sustain them before a jury;

b) Capacity to manage and organize the information;

c) Ability to critically analyse, summarize and reflect;

d) Ability to work interdisciplinary subjects.

Syllabus

Each student chooses a Work Project topic, in the field of Accounting and Taxation, which must be approved by the academic supervisor. He/she must clearly highlight the main goals to attain with the accomplishment of this project.

The proposal of the Work Project topic, along with a declaration from the supervisor, must be subsequently approved by the MAF's Coordination.

A bibliografia será selecionada pelo/a estudante, com a supervisão do/a orientador/a da Faculdade de Economia, tendo especial enfoque na àrea da Contabilidade e Fiscalidade.

Bibliography is chosen by each student, under the supervision of the academic supervisor from the Faculty of Economics, having a special focus in the field of Accounting and Taxation.
