Teaching Methods

The teaching methods include the exposure of theoretical and theoretical-practical topics through professor lectures and audiovisual and interactive media and practical and oral presentations by the students. In each topic, students are encouraged to solve problems and fieldwork related to specific scenarios.

Learning Outcomes

To promote theoretical and the practical knowledge in planning inclusive physical and sports activities and to develop in students the competencies to organize and to implement sports programs appropriate to the functional profile of people with special needs, in an inclusive context.

The student should acquire the following learning outcomes:

- Recognize inclusion models on adaptation of sport activities;

- Master the definition, classification and etiology of special needs and to adapt educational equipment and resources and to apply the specific strategies according to the population profile;

- Promote sport activities appropriate to the psychomotor skills of the performers, in the inclusive context.

- Inclusion spectrum and adaptation models on inclusive physical activities

- Inclusive practices in adapted physical activities for people with special needs (sensory impairments - hearing and visual; physical disabilities; intellectual disabilities; development disorders and autism):

   - Definition and etiology;

   - Classification and functional profile;

   - Teaching strategies and adaptations in inclusive physical activities;

   - Adapted physical fitness tests.

   - Presentation of physical and sport activities aimed to include people with special needs.
