Teaching Methods

Content development will include both theoretic and practical approaches, that will be developed using expository methods, independent work, co-work tasks, teamwork and special activities.

Learning Outcomes

The discipline of Practical Studies - Orienteering aims to provide students with the knowledge needed for teaching Orienteering to children and youth, in a learning environment that is socially and emotionally conducive to a teaching-learning process and enhancer of sports for life.

The students will be able to: identify the four disciplines of the Orienteering, knowing its history, main characteristics and organization formats; identify and apply the key specific skills and basic techniques to move around the terrain with the aid of the map; identify and apply teaching strategies on key specific skills and basic techniques; plan an Orienteering activity taking into account its objective, size and available resources, being able to relate the degree of difficulty with the characteristics of the target population and plan according to both; identify the basic concepts and principles of Orienteering cartography.
