Teaching Methods

The pedagogical strategy consists basically in the presentation and discussion of certain developed topics from the syllabus, encouraging the participation of students and giving them the possibility to chooose their own contributions. The pedagogical methodology follows a previous agreed plan, aiming that selected topics correspond to the technical, scientific and professional interests of students as well as to their dissertation project and / or report project.

Learning Outcomes

The objectives of the curricular unit arise from the discussion of programs, practices and policies that face transversal challenges of planning, underpinning sustainability, human health and wellbeing of the populations, by integrated and inclusive perspectives.

O.1 Understanding the importance of interdisciplinary in planning, namely by recognizing indicators of biodiversity, health and human wellbeing.

O.2 Develop participatory research and translational interdisciplinary skills for planning to health and sustainable cities

O.3 Implementing participatory methodologies and interdisciplinary assessments in planning.

O.4. Understanding the concepts of sustainable urbanism, (edible) green infrastructure, food sustainability of cities, solutions based on nature.
