Knowledge of Physics I and II, Analytical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry Bioelectricity and Biomagnetism, Analysis and Processing of Biosignals, Electronics, Instrumentation and Data Acquisition Systems at the level of 1st cycle of studies.

The concept of Biosensor. Selectivity, sensitivity, stability and response time. Detection by biocatalytic or by binding event. Enzymatic biosensors and imunossensores.

Biosensors applications.

Biological recognition elements. Immobilization of biological compounds.

Surface characterization and modification. Coatings with membrane sensors.

Transducers. Performance factors. In vitro and in vivo monitoring. Lab-on-a-chip

Biosensors stability. The evolution of the glucose biosensor. Last generation biosensors. Future prospects.

Physiological and environmental Transducers/Sensors. Principles and general concepts. Static and dynamic parameters.

Study and application of some sensors.

Readout, conditioning and amplifier electrical circuits.

Biomedical signals. Electrocardiography, Electromiography. Interference and noise.  Analog filters.

Analog and digital signals. Digitization. Sampling.  Quantization and aliasing errors.
