3rd Cycle Studies
Recommended Prerequisites
It is recommended that the student has previously attended the unit Advanced Concepts of Acoustics and Vibrations.
Teaching Methods
In teaching the course, it is expected the presentation of basic theoretical concepts and advanced knowledge on the topics defined in the syllabus. Relevance is given to the study of practical cases and solving exercises.
Learning Outcomes
The unit aims to provide students obtaining knowledge and skills in the field of acoustics of enclosed, or partially enclosed areas, covering not only the acoustic conditioning inside the space, but also isolation from the outside and other neighboring areas and acoustic and vibration conditioning systems and equipment. The ultimate goal will be to ensure proper conformation of the acoustic space, depending on their use, and minimize the levels of background noise in the room. It is intended that students develop skills of analysis and synthesis, problem solving, critical thinking and practical application of theoretical knowledge. Since this is a 3rd cycle unit, it is intended not only that the trainees can participate actively in the design and acoustic design of rooms, but also to develop applied research within the thematic of acoustics and vibrations.
